Ag report finds waste financial mismanagement of health it found in NSW, Victoria and Queensland
The Victorian government has lost control of the health system, a new study has found, with “over half” of government-owned hospitals failing to meet recommended criteria for quality and safety.
Fifty-four per cent of the 42,000 hospitals in Victoria, as바카라사이트 at 2015-16, either failed to meet standards of care for patients, or had poor access to staff, the research found.
The findings come less than a year after a Royal Commission into Hospital Management found Melbourne hospitals were in “unacceptable” condition, prompting calls for an independent review of the government’s healthcare system.
The independent commission has commissioned a report into hospital performance, but the government has not commissioned it.
The federal government has also said it had made no plans to review hospital spending, arguing that the system was “functioning well” before the royal commission and the federal government’s reforms have been implemented, which meant “no significant impacts to patients”.
The Victorian Institute of Health and Welfare said it was t바카라oo soon to say whether the government had “effectively shuttered the door” on new funding for the health system.
But it added that the current levels of hospital spending were “inadequate” to pay for existing services, including nursing and clinical services, and that it was “not clear that there is an effective approach to delivering these services”.
‘Dependency on other funds’
While the government did not have “sufficient investment” in hospitals, the authors of the report said they were “concerned” that Melbourne hospitals were still dependent on other government funds to meet standards.
“There is a lot of money and other funds are available, and while they are available, there is a lot of support available that can be put in place to support the management of those funds,” the report said.
The Victorian Institute of Health and Welfare is the Commonwealth organisation that has led the research, and the chief executive, the state’s first woman chief executive, Louise Brown, called for government oversight to ensure no other health care system in Australia was “unfit for purpose”.
“The fact that hospitals are dependent on government funds in Victoria does not change their current circumstances and it is not acceptable to the health system that it continues to require this,” she to우리카지노ld the Victorian Media Review.
“The health system is a financial business that requires resources and we want the health system to be financially robust, but it is not sustainable.”
